cviog.uga.eduMr. Maner directs the Local Government Programs Unit of the Governmental Training, Education, and Development Division. The unit provides professional development and/or certificate programs for Georgia’s county and municipal elected and appointed officials including the Association County Commissioners of Georgia, the Georgia Municipal Association, the Georgia City-County Management Association (GCCMA), the Georgia Municipal and County Clerks/Finance Officers Association, the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association, the Management Development Program (for local government managers and supervisors) and numerous others. Mr. Maner is a recipient of the University of Georgia’s Public Service and Outreach Walter B. Hill Award for Distinguished Achievement in Public Service. In addition to his work in Georgia, he provides training, facilitation, and consulting regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Prior to joining the Institute, Mr. Maner spent more than 20 years in Georgia local governments in various management roles. He holds graduate degrees in psychology and in public administration from West Georgia University and he is a skilled facilitator and presenter.
