cviog.uga.eduMs. Marlowe is a faculty member in the Vinson Institute’s Governmental Training, Education, and Development Division. She instructs elected officials, planning commissioners, planners, and local government staff. Her training focuses on planning, comprehensive planning requirements, quality growth, public participation, and implementation. She facilitates local governments, their boards, and authorities in various stages of the planning and implementation process. She also teaches in the Management Development Certificate Program for city and county management staff and supervisors.
Her prior experience includes 11 years with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs promoting planning, strategic land use, and community design principles, and conducting educational programs for elected officials and planning professionals. She is also serving in her second term as a member of the Athens-Clarke County Planning Commission. Her interests include strategic planning, quality growth, zoning and historic preservation.
