Mr. Robinson joined the Vinson Institute as a consultant in 2006 and became a full-time faculty member with the Institute in January 2007. He currently serves as a Management Development Associate, and his duties include providing training, education, and development to state government entities.

Mr. Robinson began his career as a Policy Analyst in the Senate Research Office in 1991 upon graduating from the University of Georgia with undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration. His primary duties included providing non-bias, non-partisan research to the Lieutenant Governor and the 56 members of the Senate. He also worked closely with governmental entities, private agencies, lobbyists, the media, and the public to provide information regarding legislation, legislative activities, current policy issues, and constituent research requests.

Mr. Robinson staffed legislative standing committees, legislative interim study committees, executive commissions, and national research committees. His major policy areas included economic development; public safety and homeland security; and criminal justice. During his 14 year tenure at the Senate Research Office, he was promoted to the positions of Deputy Director in 1999 and Director in 2003. As Director, he established a salary scale and job classification system for the Senate Research Office.

In addition to his work with the Institute, Mr. Robinson remains active with the University of Georgia, serving as a member of the Board of Directors for University of Georgia Alumni Association and as a member of the Masters of Public Administration Advisory Council.
