cviog.uga.eduDr. Sanford specializes in public budgeting and finance issues, and her recent projects include a fiscal viability study for a proposed incorporation, reviewing county responses to a new accounting rule on post-employment benefits, and organizational reviews for local governments.
Prior to joining the Institute, Dr. Sanford taught public budgeting, financial management, organizational theory, and local government management at Northern Illinois University. She has also served as a senior budget analyst for the State of Nevada Department of Administration and as a policy advisor in the Governor's Office in the areas of natural resources, transportation, and the arts. She has published articles in the areas of public budgeting, organizational theory, and municipal annexation.
